Who We Are

The University of Mississippi Center for Open Source Analysis (COSA) is a student-run analysis group that works to publish monthly open source intelligence pieces on relevant national security issues. COSA is affiliated with the Ole Miss Center for Intelligence and Security Studies, one of the nation’s premiere Intelligence Studies programs and designated an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence by the Director of National Intelligence.

What We Do

COSA utilizes unclassified open-source intelligence (OSINT) to create concise intelligence products to inform the public on important trends and drivers surrounding contemporary issues, while also helping to improve team-based analytical skills among our students.

Our Teams

We currently operate four teams covering the Middle East and North Africa, Russia, China, and Latin America.
