Who We Are

The University of Mississippi Center for Open Source Analysis (COSA) is a student-run analysis group that works to publish monthly open source intelligence pieces on relevant national security issues. COSA is affiliated with the Ole Miss Center for Intelligence and Security Studies, one of the nation’s premier Intelligence Studies programs and designated an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence by the Director of National Intelligence.

What We Do

COSA utilizes unclassified open-source intelligence (OSINT) to create concise intelligence products to inform the public on important trends and drivers surrounding contemporary issues, while also helping to improve team-based analytical skills among our students.

Our Team

Our students are engaged in a variety of study areas, including international studies, political science and public policy, criminal justice, social sciences, and others. Students operate in teams to develop products covering regions of interest, including the Middle East and North Africa, Russia, China, and Latin America.
